Other Worlds Evolved is the next generation of the original Other Worlds library, reimagined as a powerful instrument for our brand new Orbita Engine within the full version of Kontakt 8. Built from a vast 4.6GB collection of 500 original cinematic samples created by sound designer Adam Pietruszko, Other Worlds Evolved transforms this expansive sonic universe into a deeply interactive synthesis environment.

Every sound from the original library has been integrated into the new engine, preserving the character and diversity that made Other Worlds a favourite among composers while opening entirely new creative possibilities. The instrument also includes 100 professionally designed presets, showcasing everything from evolving ambient textures and spacious soundscapes to unsettling horror atmospheres, cinematic transitions, and experimental sonic explorations.

What began as a collection of inspiring cinematic textures is now a fully playable instrument designed for exploration, performance, and creative discovery. At its core is a custom wavetable synthesis engine that unlocks new harmonic and textural possibilities from the original recordings. Atmospheric pads, evolving ambiences, experimental effects, and cinematic transitions can be reshaped, layered, and animated with precision. By combining wavetable synthesis with layered sample playback, modulation, filtering, envelopes, expressive morphing controls, and the Orbita Engine's intuitive workflow, every sound becomes fluid, responsive, and constantly evolving.

To make performances feel even more organic, every sound source features two velocity layers. Playing at lower velocities (0–95) triggers one variation of the source, while higher velocities (96–127) introduce an alternative performance, adding subtle tonal and textural variation that brings greater realism and expression to every patch.

The original Other Worlds library was celebrated for its vast palette of evolving textures, from spacious ambient soundscapes and melodic electronic layers to unsettling horror atmospheres, sci-fi effects, avant-garde experimentation, and vintage modular-inspired synthesis. Other Worlds Evolved builds on that foundation, transforming all 500 original recordings into a modern cinematic instrument capable of generating immersive environments, evolving sonic landscapes, and expressive sound design for film, television, games, trailers, and contemporary music production.

SNAPSHOT PRESETS
Other Worlds Evolved includes a collection of 100 newly designed snapshots that expand the original library into a modern scoring instrument. They are divided into 4 categories:

Environments: Immersive atmospheres and evolving textures that create rich sonic worlds, from spacious ambient landscapes to dark, unsettling environments.

Instruments: Playable, musical sounds designed for melodic and harmonic writing, including expressive textures and cinematic tones shaped from the original source material.

Moments: Distinctive cinematic sounds designed to add instant character, tension, movement, or impact to a scene or composition.

Enter the world of violinist and composer Alexander Parsons, with his collection of evocative soundscapes and string textures. This collection of unique performances also includes an incredibly rare Faulkner Dulcichord table-top piano and a newly designed Granular Synthesis engine.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The Fracture Sounds team has collaborated with composer Alexander Parsons to devise a set of tools and sounds that encapsulate his textural approach to composition. As a trained violinist with a background in Electronic Music, this collection of solo strings, synths, and unique performances shows the full spectrum of Alexander’s palette and tastes.

The solo strings in this library focus on long and short textures that can be combined to create tension and movement. The articulations are expanded with the brand-new Granular Engine, creating a huge array of possibilities and blurring the lines between acoustic and electronic performance. As with Zen: Meditations, this library also contains Layer Blends but this time, the team at Fracture Sounds and Alexander Parsons have assembled 28 synth sounds that can then be combined in thousands of combinations with the use of additional effects.

Trails is built to enable maximum sonic exploration with minimal effort, so you can focus on writing music with an inspiring set of sounds.

SOLO STRING TEXTURES
The main element of this library is the solo violin and cello textures recorded by Alexander Parsons and his frequent collaborator and friend, Joe Zeitlin. Eight of Alexander’s favourite and most frequently used articulations have been captured in the same dry studio space in London that we used for Dan Keen’s Petrichor library.

The dry space enables the use of more effects within the instrument presets and as part of our brand-new granular engine, transforming the sounds into mesmerising textures with limitless possibilities. Returning is our Lo-Fi and Delay effects found in Hemisphere Ambient & Cinematic Guitars, which, when combined with the Reverb and 16 unique Atmosphere Layers, can alter the original acoustic recordings into a dramatic underbelly of undulating textures- what Alexander refers to as Trails.

OUR NEW GRANULAR ENGINE
Our newly designed Granular engine has distilled both the knowledge and experience from the Fracture Sounds team with Alexander’s methodology of working with Granular effects on his modular rig to expand his sound palette and create truly unique compositions. The engine is a culmination of curated sounds found throughout the library and offers many control options as well as simply being able to shuffle all of the parameters and let the instrument decide the direction of the sound for you.

The original sounds can be reversed, mutated, and tweaked using the controls available on the interface, making the original source unrecognisable, and generating a level of randomness and inspiration that Alexander craves in his writing tools.

The team at Fracture Sounds and Alexander Parsons have curated 57 presets as starting points for those who are new to Granular Synthesis. These presets are also found in a basic form in the Lightweight folder for those who need greater CPU efficiency.

Over the years Alexander has collected an array of his favourite analogue synthesisers and modular effects units and has provided a personal collection of samples inspired by those that he has used on scores over the years, combined with recordings made at Press Play.

To enable maximum playability, we have placed the synth samples into the Layer Blends engine that was introduced with Zen: Meditations, enabling up to three synth samples to be blended and controlled using the mod wheel. There are 28 unique synth sounds found in this library with 28, providing 546 possible blending options, which can then be extended further with the ADSR envelope, filters, and other effects found on the interface.

FAULKNER DULCICHORD
A key tool in Alexander’s arsenal is the Faulkner Dulcichord, a small single-stringed tabletop piano that has a delicate and enchanting tone. As well as the effects included with the solo string textures, Dulcichord has a Broken Tuning function that can alter the original cleaned-up samples into a more antique sound. Those who are familiar with our pianos will be aware of our Colour and Timbre Shift controls that can shift the tone of the instrument into a darker or brighter space, and we have also included an extended range switch to increase the range of the instrument beyond its natural limitations.

ARTIST PROFILE
Alexander Parsons is a composer and performer who has a background in a number of music practices. He has worked on numerous television series for Netflix, Amazon, and Channel 4, including the highly-praised Grayson’s Art Club (featuring artist Grayson Perry), and Black Power: A Story of British Resistance (Steve McQueen).

As a trained violinist, and with a Masters in composition, Alexander would go on to explore electronic music culminating in DJ performances across London and Europe which influenced much of his work in music for media today.

He continues to regularly perform live, and can often be found playing alongside collaborator Joe Zeitlin, a cellist who also features on Trails.

The vast majority of solo violin libraries exist to do two things: sustains and shorts. But that focus leaves an entire side of the instrument almost completely unexplored – the violin as something driven, rhythmic, and in constant motion.

That’s the gap Rotor Solo Violin was built for. We brought in our resident violinist Henry Rankin, threw the rulebook out, and drew influence from the widest possible range of music — creating 160 rhythmic loops. Full of spontaneous moments and unique character. And all of them lock to your DAW’s project tempo without losing any of the human timing that makes them feel real.

On top of that, we captured 15 short articulations, 15 flourishes to give you the raw material for melodies, textures and transitions across the full upper register of the strings. The whole thing was recorded with the same team, equipment and room as Rotor Solo Cello, which means the two sit together in a mix with a naturalness that’s impossible to fake.

Recorded through through Neve and API preamps, a Calrec Q-series desk and captured using world-class Apogee Rosetta 800 analogue to digital convertors.

Doubling and panning
For when one violin isn’t enough. Use Rotor’s doubling feature to access a secondary take of the performances that push the stereo field and give you the sound of two violinists performing the same part in unison. An authentic doubling effect to add width and depth to your music.

Four separate microphone positions giving different perspectives from ultra-close to more distanced. Four pre-built mixes: Close, Natural, Hyped and Ambient. The Hyped mix in particular is one of the most useful options in the library for modern production contexts.

TransPitch™ control
Our proprietary FX which pitch-shifts the violin down and simultaneously transposes it back to the original pitch. The result is a darker, more unsettled quality. The violin will sound duller and slower. This is distinct from standard pitch adjustment and is different to just adding another plugin.

Standard and extended range
STD patches cover the recorded range of the violin. EXT patches extend the range by stretching samples beyond the recorded notes — useful for unusual harmonic territory or for getting a different character from the same performances.

The Ensemble

Sustains are sounds that will loop and continue to play for as long as you hold down a note.
We sampled not only a range of "standard" sustains such as vowels, but also a variety of creative performances that introduce more movement, texture, and variation.

Repetitions are short articulations that will repeat in free-time, based on your chosen speed.
Perfect as a top layer to bring in extra movement and interest, or crank up the speed and create some chaos!

As well as the Men and Women ensembles, we sampled multiple soloists performing many of the same articulations, as well as some unique ones.
These articulations work particularly well as a top layer that you can fade in over the top of an ensemble articulation.

The Performers - Virtuosic performances at your fingertips
Continuing Strezov Sampling's boutique The Performers series, focusing on virtuosic musical performances not possible to create with traditional multisampling methods, "Anna" brings everyone back to the roots of Bulgarian folklore and allows them to access our country's unique female throat singing once more after Rhodope 2's success. Recorded in the Sofia Session Studio and later mixed down to three mic positions (Close, Decca and Hall).

All performances are wrapped together in a brandnew NI Kontakt based engine allowing the user to freely map all phrases and musical parts of phrases to their liking, thus creating new combinations beyond the well known layouts.

In order to ensure maximum usability and flexibility all performances were recorded with click at various tempi and on wholetone scale within one octave. You are not limited to certain tempi or keys with this collection. In addition to that, The Performers - Anna also comes with open .wav files to import all performances into the DAW or sampler of your choice.

Anna Asenova is a captivating Bulgarian folk vocalist whose voice embodies the raw beauty, power, and emotional depth of the Shopluk and Graovo traditions (and folklore regions). With a performance style rooted deeply in authentic Bulgarian folklore, she brings centuries-old musical heritage to life through expressive phrases, haunting ornaments, and unmistakable vocal character. Her artistry blends tradition with cinematic emotion, making her voice equally compelling on the concert stage and in modern music production.

For this distinctive instrument, we turned to the Soulful Traveling Spaceman Bassman, Carter Fox, and his Kydd Upright 34” 5-string bass. We couldn’t imagine a better artist to bring out the best from such a unique instrument, noteworthy for its sensitivity in harmonics and dynamic range. We recorded it through an amp with Carter’s preferred specs, alongside the DI (Direct Input) signal so you get access to Carter’s signature sound as well as complete control of tone customization.

We knew that Carter would capture some magic with this instrument, but we weren’t prepared for just how diverse and flexible the final result would be. The tone speaks for itself in genres ranging from modern funk pop to country and everything in between. Shreddage 3 E-Upright boasts a ‘sweet spot’ bass tone smooth enough to sit in a mix and punchy enough to make a statement in any genre.

An Impeccable Performance on an Expressive Instrument
Why an electric upright bass? This remarkable instrument shares much of the same warm round tone and nuance of an acoustic upright bass, with several notable advantages. First, it works much better for sampling due to the consistency of its DI sound, unlike an acoustic upright, which can have a wild frequency range and must contend with room reflection. And because it’s an amplified instrument, the signal can be taken in infinitely inspiring directions, without losing any expressiveness or sacrificing the richness of its natural harmonics.

In short, an electric upright has a similar character to an acoustic upright, but it’s more usable, easier to fit in your mix, and far more flexible tone-wise. We hope it will open up all-new avenues for creative inspiration, whether you’re writing a virtuosic bass solo in a jazz ensemble or holding down traditional basslines with a different sound.

Unlike a standard bass guitar’s picked articulations, the electric upright has a plucked articulation that is familiar enough to suit many styles of music but distinctive enough to give your tracks a new twist — with a full range of articulations and versatile playability that maps directly to the Shreddage 3 engine. If you know how to write for bass guitar, you’ll find Shreddage 3 E-Upright very similar in function to what you’re used to.

Our articulation set gives you just what you need to lay down solid bass grooves as well as create realistic solos: sustains, short and long staccatos, tapping, harmonics, a generous set of up and down slides, pitched and unpitched releases, and legatos which are automatically implemented. In this EZX for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3, session drummer Jeremy Stacey (Sheryl Crow, Robbie Williams, Sia, Ryan Adams) handpicked four kits from his extensive collection – each one capturing a distinct sound and a defining moment in the evolution of drums. Spanning the 1960s through the 1990s, it delivers the unmistakable character of each era in striking detail, from tight, muffled and snappy to open, loud and thunderously big.

Teaming up with his brother Paul – a seasoned engineer, producer and instrumentalist with credits ranging from Oasis to The Black Crowes – they chose Livingston Studios in London, UK, as the perfect setting for the project. With a room seemingly tailored for transparent drum recording, it had the sonic qualities needed to bring out the essential: the drums themselves. To further underscore the characteristics of each kit, the Stacey brothers used period gear and era-specific mic placements, giving every kit a custom treatment tailored to its time.

In addition to the kits themselves, this EZX also includes a collection of grooves for each kit as well as a broad palette of mix-ready presets showcasing different approaches. As always, use these presets for a direct, mix-ready sound – or tailor them in detail using the macros.

From the warm, round and subtle tone of the 1960s, the open and fusion-tinged sound of the 1970s, the bombastic, stadium-big approach of the 1980s to the raw, gritty and hard-hitting edge of the 1990s, this EZX not only gives you a curated palette of kits, it provides a snapshot of drum sound history.

It delivers the perfect balance for modern scoring: bigger and richer than smaller 30 – 40 player sections, yet more detailed and versatile than oversized 90+ ensembles. It captures the cinematic weight of world-class film recordings while retaining clarity, flexibility, and expressive nuance. Ideal for any professional composer.

Comprehensive Bleed Microphones – Done Right
Only a few libraries offer a bleed option, and usually only in a limited way. With LUX Orchestral Strings we wanted to capture the true experience of a full orchestral scoring session, so we took it much further.

In total we set up 48 microphones. 26 were used for the main capture — tree, far, and close mics for the string sections. On top of that we added another 22 close bleed microphones across the brass, woodwinds and percussion sections to record their natural spill into the strings. This recreated the complete orchestral recording setup, with every mic you would expect to find on a professional scoring stage.

Sampling allows us to achieve the impossible—the only limitation is our imagination. While we don't make a habit of bragging, we're certain that Crystal Pianos is likely to become a sampling classic for our fellow music makers. This strange pilgrimage of being able to create piano-like instruments from single resonating sources is one that goes back 22 years for our samplist-in-residence Christian Henson. Inspired by the 1974 John Carpenter cult-classic "Dark Star", Christian always dreamed of having a piano like the one played by the astronaut in the film, where hammers struck bottles and glasses instead of strings. It wasn't until 2004, when he was tasked with composing a science fiction score, that Christian began his often frustrating attempts at recreating the essence of that scene from the Carpenter classic. It's taken 22 years of experimentation, but Henson feels we have finally cracked it. Our innovation "Shepherd Mapping" enables us to make entirely chromatic instruments from single objects that resonate at only one pitch. On this occasion, we've done this with 18 different glass objects; from wine glasses, to beakers, to bowls. Each piece of glassware was hand-picked for its unique sonic characteristics, ranging from intimate celeste-like tones all the way to a chorus of shimmering glass. Each offering provides you with 5 different playing styles: Hyper-detailed Hits, Muted Hits, Slow Ripples, Fast Ripples, and Rubs. Control the sonic characteristic of each glass via our unique "partial mixer" that enables you to tweak individual sonic components of the performances: Fundamentals (the most audible music note or root), Harmonics (the surrounding frequencies mapped into chromatic shepherd tones) and Transients (the strike tone, which asserts the material characteristics of the instrument and therefore doesn't change, even if the pitch of the other partials does). Create magical melodies that don't have the sentimental "Potter-Effect" of a celeste or glockenspiel. Orchestrate intricate contrapuntal tapestries or indeed oceans of rippling glass atmospheres to bring something new and unique to your music. Recorded in the ultra dry, super low noise-floor environment of Gorbals Sound Studios Glasgow with every note carefully curated and performed by our founder Christian Henson.

Typical to the sonic ambitions of Bleeding Fingers we're proud to present an audacious project: a unique selection of stringed instruments built with bones, horns, skulls and cannibalised classical instruments including a cello, frame drum, resonating dulcimer and many others.

Their generosity led to them kindly agreeing to share their unique inventions with the rest of the composing world.

Welcome to the Vienna Symphonic Library’s series of Synchron Instruments! Epic Orchestra 2.0 gives you an overview of what to expect when you purchase one of our Synchron products. The instruments presented here were either recorded directly at the 540 m2 (5,813 sq.ft.) main hall of our renowned Synchron Stage, or completely remastered and equipped with the hall’s pristine reverb (you’ll recognize the latter by the epithet "Studio" in their name). The third installment in our World Orchestra Series: ARABIAN Ethnic Orchestra
This collection features over 50 diverse instruments, ranging from playable plucked and bowed strings to vocals, winds, percussion, and sound design, capturing the essence of a true Middle Eastern orchestra. It includes advanced tuning capabilities to deliver an authentic regional sound, along with improvisations and phrases based on the most popular licks and grooves.

Arabian Ethnic Orchestra (or AEO) was fully recorded in Syria with the help of authentic Arabian musicians performing all of the instruments. For the ensembles (Strings, Percussion, Voice FX, etc) we used a medium-sized concert hall, and the soloists were recorded in a smaller studio. All was recorded with different microphones which we later summed into 3 microphone positions - Close, Mid, Far.

As the library has a lot of different content within, we decided to split it into different categories for easier navigation. AEO contains:

- 02 - Plucked Strings
- 03 - Woodwinds
- 04 - Percussion
- 05 - Voices
- 06 - Sparks

In addition to the articulations we typically sample, for this particular library we wanted to really capture the authentic performances of the different musicians, so that is why the library features a bunch of "Improvisation" instruments, along with some interesting "Phrases" patches. Please download our manual for a detailed list on articulations and instruments included.

The percussion section forms the backbone of the music from this region. We’ve included a variety of fully produced percussion loops, along with individual instrument performances for each, allowing you to achieve quick and satisfying results with ease. Multiple time signatures are available for maximum versatility, and the loops automatically sync to the tempo of your host sequencer.

BFD Vintage Recording Techniques is an expansion pack for BFD3 that uses a variety of vintage microphone techniques to capture a beautiful Ludwig Classic Maple drum kit.

The result is a selection of familiar, authentic vintage sounds suitable for rock, pop, blues and more.

Our engineers used world renowned drum recording techniques including ORTF, Glyn Johns, and Blumlein. Direct microphones were expertly placed on all kit pieces to ensure the pack has a wide range of mixing possibilities and can deliver authentic drum sounds from vintage to modern.

For the ORTF technique, 2 AKG C451B mics were used. This gave a wide stereo image with excellent mono detail that is perfect for jazz tracks.

A technique that has been used on countless rock records, the spaced pair setup featured 2 AKG C414 XLS large diaphragm condensers, which created a wide stereo image exhibiting a huge palette of sonic colours.

The Blumlein technique used 2 ribbon microphones configured to give an excellent stereo image and a smooth sounding ambience.

For the Glyn Johns technique, 2 Neumann TLM103’s were used for overheads, which when combined with the snare and kick direct channels provide that classic sound.
